Fading Audio

Audacity provides effects for fading in or fading out sections of audio.

Fading in Audio

1 Open the audio file.

2 Select the section of audio to apply the fade in effect.

3 From the Effect menu, select Fade In.

4 Review the change.

• (optional) Undo the change. From the Edit menu, select Undo Fade In.

5 Save the project.

Fading out Audio

1 Open the audio file.

2 Select the section of audio to apply the fade out effect.

3 From the Effect menu, select Fade Out.

4 Review the change.

• (optional) Undo the change. From the Edit menu, select Undo Fade Out.

5 Save the project.
